This website is maintained by American volunteers. It is a repository of documents concerning the plight of Sikhs and Hindus in Afghanistan. As American forces exit Afghanistan, we have grave concerns about the safety of Afghan Sikhs and Hindus, who number less than 700 and who are subjected to religious discrimination by their government and genocidal violence by religious extremists. We call upon President Trump, the U.S. Department of State, the U.S. Congress, and the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) to grant refugee status immediately to Afghan Sikhs and Hindus on an emergency basis as a matter of special humanitarian concern, count them toward FY2020 under the U.S. Refugee Admissions Program (USRAP), evacuate Afghan Sikhs and Hindus to safety, and facilitate their resettlement to the United States.
